Performance of Al2O3/TiO2 Hybrid Nano-Cutting Fluid in MQL Turning Operation via RSM Approach

Cutting fluids can be used to cool workpieces at high cutting speeds and remove chips from zones. The effectiveness of may improved with the addition hybrid nanoparticle dispersion. This study evaluates an Al2O3-TiO2 as a fluid in turning operations. nano-cutting was prepared using one-step method computer numerical control (CNC) coolant concentrations up 4%. Utilizing air-assisted injected through minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) setup, performance, temperature (°C), average surface roughness (Ra), tool wear (%) were evaluated. Then, response (RSM) utilized design experiment (DOE) optimize performance parameters. combination 4% concentration, 0.1 mm/rev feed rate, 0.55 mm depth cut yielded lowest temperature, roughness, values 25.3 °C, 0.480 µm, 0.0104%, respectively. concentration Al2O3/TiO2 inclusion achieved highest reduction that led better finish tool-wear longer life. Therefore, strongly recommended operations for CNC lathes.
